Time to show off your knowledge of the digestive system and any other systems you can include. Yummy! Time to eat! Imagine a big ole slice of meat, veggie, and cheese pizza, washed down with a big glass of sweet tea. Name the structures the food meets along the gastrointestinal tract and the digestive processes that happen as you go through the system. Include as many enzymes or ways food is broken down as you can. I will do the first step as an example: The pizza enters the mouth, where chewing starts the mechanical breakdown process of the digestive system. Be sure to include as many organs as you can. Up to 10 bonus points for exceptional answers, especially if you can incorporate additional organ systems.
